A concept for the SPCA of Brazoria County

Who sent September’s 476 animals, and who got home?

Canna is an after-hours front desk and a city ledger for the shelter on Canna Lane. It answers the phone, chat, Facebook and texts in English and Spanish when staff have gone home, gets lost pets back and keeps surrenders at home, and tags every intake to a city, so the monthly statements and next year’s contract numbers write themselves. Watch the tour, jump to a chapter, or play one chapter on its own.

Try the prototype
The demo in numbers
  1. 476animals taken in last September, into a shelter built for about 130
  2. 318euthanized January to September, up from 109 the year before
  3. $45KLake Jackson’s shelter line next year, down from $261,750 when its own shelter opens
  4. 7overnight conversations, two in Spanish, answered from the shelter’s own policies
  5. 4live-release rates, side by side, each with its formula

Figures come from the shelter’s website, its Form 990, city minutes and budgets, and Best Friends. The overnight cases and the split by city are synthetic. Nothing here comes from the shelter’s systems.

The narration shows here as the video plays, so the tour works with the sound off.
